Lorne Michaels Lesson, 9 Commercial Breaks & Product Placement

Who better than the internationally known producer Lorne Michaels to learn from? We've been thinking a lot lately about our production facilities. Planning, thinking, planning, talking, thinking. O.K. It's time to get off our butts and actually do something about it. We are streamlining our capabilities (which are boundless I might add) and we have a crush on Lorne's RUNDOWN board. Best of all because we are CammyTV on the web; we don't have to worry about commercial breaks (unless we want to - notice how Lorne has to contend with 9 commercial breaks every show) - we just want to hear from anyone who'd like to enjoy some product placement. This is a billion dollar industry...yes...I said billion. Brand Cameo tracks this stuff. So does this company.

And then there is 'Plinking' - \'plin-kin\ n 1 : The act of embedding a product or service link in a video. Though the basic technology has been deployed before, the term itself was coined (and trademarked) by Entertainment Media Works, a product-placement firm whose Starstyle.com pitches fashions featured in movies, TV shows, and music vids. EMW's idea: to enable plinking in any user-generated video. That's right--YouTube

I mean if this is good enough for Jerry Seinfeld in his Bee Movie: Featured brands: Bumble Bee, Cinnabon, Emmy Awards, Golden Blossom Honey, New York Mets, New York Post, NPR, Polo Ralph Lauren, Timberland, TiVo, Variety, Vogue ....it's bloody good enough for us!
